I really like this show. I know it's kiddy shit but I enjoy how completely earnest and devoid of cynicism it is. I'm pretty new to anime but I haven't liked anything else quite as much, a lot of it has sort of 14yo-virgin-nihilist tones and themes and soft-porn aesthetics and basically seems like it's made by virgins for virgins

Recommend more chad anime for my chad sensibilities, like pic related

>kiddy shit
that's literally ALL television and film, no grown adult should be sitting around watching movies and tv. It's all made for kids and young adults.

Have you watched YuYu Hakusho?

Well theres the kino "normie" tier stater anime Death Note and Cowboy Bebop if you need a beginning point.
But it's really just a matter of what synopses appeal to you. Anime isnt a genre on own.

Honestly nothing comes quite close to MHA. Like maybe Jojo in a way? But not the later series, after Josuke it just feel different. And it can be a slow build.

It’s a whole genre called “shounen” user. It’s one of the more popular subgenre’s. Basically a kid discovers they have powers then goes to school or some special training for it and then adventure ensues. Hunter x Hunter is an older shounen classic. The Chimera arch… christ… get ready for a long-haul but they stick the landing.

And as for MHA, the writer like most of his generation was inspired by One Piece. The writer for One Piece was in turn inspired by Dragon Ball.
Both of the manga are top tier shonen like MHA but I wouldnt recommend either anime to my worst enemy. The filler and pacing is awful in both.

Nope, I'll look into it thanks
Have not gotten around to Cowboy Bebop yet. I gave Death Note a shot, and it was well-done enough but for my taste it falls too much into the "adolescent nihilist" camp (which is exactly who it was made for, I know). I'm more in the market for optimistic escapism

Good to know. I'll look into Hunter x Hunter then

Kitanagatari. It's S tier and no one knows about it so you will be above casuals

Highschool DxD
Highschool of the dead
Redo of healer

Yosuga no sora

MHA is just weaboo garbage like any modern anime, full of cringe modern anime shit tropes. Fucking KYS, OP.

A lot of ppl dismiss MHA like it’s just another shonen, but as someone who doesn’t watch a ton of weeb shit, i thought it was pretty special for about 3 seasons.

Something about it really captures what it was like loving superheroes as a young boy and wanting to be a superhero and help others just because it’s the right thing to do.

Honestly, Cowboy Bebop is not a good anime to reccomend to new anime fans or normies. It's a boomer anime, for boomers. It's good it It's own way. It's a really slow burn, the central plot moves at an absolutly glacial pace and 90% of the shots are just the main 3 brooding around a spaceship.

FMA is honestly the best starter anime. Pretty short, low filler, plot moves along briskly and isnt hard to follow. Low amount of cringey anime tropes "Wow boobies but accidently! Wow Japanese comedy gold!". It has fun characters and a lot of good fight scenes.

no Shoujo Ramune?

I've never given it any real thought but I've always had Bebop as my go-to if I were to ever recommend an anime to someone who doesn't even know what anime is. I think I base it entirely on the fact that I knew someone in highschool who was loudly anti-anime but made an exception for it.
I can see how it wouldn't be the best choice with its episodicness and the modern world hating any kind of worldbuilding and just wanting the main plotline only. If I applied thought I'd probably have to choose a 6-13 episode series.
