First two seasons are great but it really gets draggy when it's all about the "will they catch Mackey" shit over and over and over.
Besides, the ending makes no sense. The feds can't give somebody a pass for state crimes and 95% of the shit Mackey did was prosecutable as a state offense.

breaking bad had more efficient story telling. the shield had less focus and much more filler. the shield oscillated between prestige quality serialized crime drama and traditional procedural cop show.
