He has self doubt, internal issues, widely disliked until he proves himself to Elrond, theorem, denethor, dead guys et cet. Everything he accomplishes is shown, not told. Yeah he’s a veritable superhuman, but he’s never one dimensional or unrelatable.

you dont know what Mary Sue is

based in the books, bitch in the movies
>buuuuuut he needs a character arc
no

The best thing about LOTR is that its really good BUT it can also be remade EVEN BETTER if you follow the source material even closer

Pretty sure aragorn is supposed to be a gigachad 7 foot tall numenorian kinda character, so many things could be made even better someday

(except the shire scourge thing fuck that part lmao)

>so many things could be made even better someday
Not in the modern world... The LotR films came out at the perfect time. Right when special effects became good enough to do it properly but before identity politics infected everything.

Neither does OP, so that balances it out

The industry is bleeding talent. There is no way they have the skills to make it even half as good as the originals.

He's just a genuinely good guy though who is talented at what he does but neglectful of his familial duties.

Chads are real. you see them in shcools or sports or out and about all the time
the idea that gifted attractive men have to have be stupid or have some severe character flaw to "balance it out" is a headcanon power fantasy made into a trope by insecure comic book nerds

Honestly I think it's because of video game character creation.

It’s because bad writers don’t grasp the difference between a talented and virtuous character, and one who is functionally unstoppable within the script.
For all Aragorn’s virtues, there is no point where he can completely destroy all tension within the book or movie because of them, because lord of the rings is well written.
The Mary Sue label is essentially a training aid for retards who would otherwise self insert and then craft the story so their self insert is moulded to it.

>using the word gigachad unironically
What a pathetic generation.

Legolas was the Mary Sue.

He was the last of his bloodline and a refugee. He was not given special treatment by Elrond and had to prove himself to him. He went on decades of guerrila warfare with the Rangers and also served in the Rohan army which honed his fighting and leadership skills. Far from a Mary Sue.

Still not watching rings of power

Mary Sue afaik refers more to a main-character that's forcedly and arbitrarily better than everyone else and is likely an author's self-insert. Aragon isn't really the main character and there is a lot of reasons he is so great, he was raised by elves and is also like 80 years old despite his appearance.
