The fundamental premise of the genre is that shit goes south and characters die which makes every horror film extremely predictable. I have yet to see a horror movie with a genuinely surprising or engaging narrative. If there's a twist you can usually see it coming from a mile away. Even the "classics" are full of cliches and lazy writing.
Is there actually a worse genre?
Is horror objectively the worst genre?
your thread is the worst genre u homo
Blair Shit Project sucks you retarded redditor.
foreign is the worst then horror
Foreign could could be any genre though
Romantic comedies and big action flicks are exactly the same. Most anything you can slot into a specific genre is going to be mediocre at best.
But yeah. Horror sucks and is boring.
Romance is for shittier
You don't watch good movies. Go back to your white boy action flicks.
Why are you gullible people so obsessed with horror?
I admit it could've been predicted, months ago major grifters started to shill this genre a lot and now this board is slowly catching up.
My family hated horror movies. I never got to see any until I was old enough to sit up late and catch them on tv. There's something fascinating about the vicarious thrill of watching a film about people in danger and fighting for their lives. Horror movies keep getting made, so there must be something to the genre that drives people to watch them. They frequently go over the top, but I think there is some catharsis in facing fear. Especially when it's safe like watching a movie.
>The fundamental premise of the genre is that shit goes south
Yes retard. Do you know what "horror" means? Also this isn't always the case for something like Bride of Chucky which is a horror comedy.
>and characters die which makes every horror film extremely predictable.
If there weren't deaths, it would just be considered a thriller which sounds like something yiu would prefer more.
>I have yet to see a horror movie with a genuinely surprising or engaging narrative.
Happy Death Day us a required viewing for you. Don't watch the sequels though because it'll filter you.
>If there's a twist you can usually see it coming from a mile away.
Maybe vaguely but the actual twist and how it plays out is usually the difference. For example, Sleepaway camp.
>Even the "classics" are full of cliches.
Because the Classics started those cliches and later movies copied them
>Is there actually a worse genre?
>and lazy writing
You can say this about all movies.
Now post your favorite genre so I can really expose you for the fraud you are.
>head up ass mad seething over horror being put in its place
The horror genre is trash and the screaming you fan boys muster won't change that.
Horror movies rely more on interesting visuals and atmosphere than plot or character development, though some do those well. Any movie can be considered predictable, that doesn't automatically make it a bad movie because the "twist" or revelations shouldn't be what makes your movie good or not.
Scififags are getting too cocky
is Jason-X scifi?
>I have yet to see a horror movie with a genuinely surprising or engaging narrative.
Watch more movies
>I have yet to see a horror movie with a genuinely surprising or engaging narrative
watch more movies
Yes.
When they make targeted demographic horror movies, yes, it is the worst.
Jordan Peele targets black people for his movies.
His "scary" ideas?
White people.
Jobs.
Taking responsibilty for your kids.
Working a full time job.
Not being a rapper.
Sucking at basketball.
Being short.
Being pulled over by a cop.
Running out of weed, grape drank, sprite or menthol cigarettes.
Cry more. Horror is just a more graphic thriller.
We all like different things and that's okay
