Beautiful movie. Such a great rendition of the hero's journey and the adventure feels epic in scale despite the fact that it's about rabbits in rural southern England. It did the scare the fuck out of me as a kid (particularly the fields of blood and the rabbits all suffocating to death in their burrows) but its great at showing how horrible and violent not only nature itself is, but man's effect on nature as well.
The CG remake was sanitised pussy shit.
