I know the natural first instinct is to think that Netflix screwed up again and created something so cringe and bad that it makes one miss the Paul WS Anderson movies, but hear me out. The writing in this was awful, but it was awful in a way that made women and minorities look like total shit, in such a way that it may have even be intentional.

She wants to break into the labs just because this offends her as a vegan, showing that vegans are subhuman and will destroy mankind >The Umbrella Lab, overseen by a woman, has literally no security at night.... why? >The Umbrella CEO, who is not only a woman but a lesbian, is an unrestrained bitch with no regard for life >She also DRUGS HER OWN WIFE EVERY DAY, the relationship unsustainable without mind altering substances >Literally every single action Jade undertakes in the series, in both the past and 2036 timelines, leads to the deaths of all her allies including TWO cuck men who were in love with her >This is explicitly called out >Jade even gets a pregnant woman killed because she couldn't wait 2 weeks
This could be one of those 'God makes the truth hard to hide' moments rather than intentional

The plot is driven entirely by minority/female stupidity >Unlike in other woke shows this is all portrayed as bad, all these people even Jade are called out for being retarded, selfish, dangerous, and destructive >Not only that but all the characters besides Wesker are completely unlikable, in constant smarmy rage even though they are the dumbest of them all

The show is quite decent. I don't like the "Netflix look" it has. I don't like the licensed music. I still prefer the Anderson movies. But this... this is a legitimately kind of decent TV show, and Season 2 could have some real potential. The first half of the show feels like it was less polished than the second. It's #1 in the US right now, but I dunno if it'll keep people engaged.
Also, this show is Spider-Man 3 Evil Peter Dance levels of camp. I cannot believe people are downplaying that. This show is retarded, and it knows it's retarded. The scene of Evelyn dancing is peak retardation. And people think they're clever saying, "Oh, it's cringe." It's not cringe, it's immensely retarded, and the characters all know it's retarded.
