Cause it was built by boomers. Friendly reminder that contemporary architecture is always ahead of it's time but only gets recognized after the fact. Modern architecture is a symptom of art movements in the 50s and 60s
Actual modern architecture is pretty good with focuses on sunlight and bright materials and multi use spaces. I believe there will be some amount of maximalism in interior design in the next 10-20 years. A lot of burgeoning interior designers are Adderall fueled zoomers obsessed with detail. I also predict transformable spaces, that which you can change the mood and affect of the room without much effort. The kitchen with get smaller and the living room bigger and more complex.
