How about some Western literature kino instead?

I rewatched The Searchers and it's one of the best westerns I've ever seen. Young me really didn't get it. John Wayne plays himself in this movie pretty much but Ford subverts it in such a subtle way that it becomes kino.

Well obviously I recommend Edge, since that book series has 61 novels. It was done by the same guy who did the novelization for A Fistful of Dollars, so you're in good hands.

I also recommend the Lone Ranger's pulp magazines too.

>John Wayne plays himself in this movie pretty much
He's not really like Ethan irl

Pale Rider is great and sadly underrated

I don't blame you, she was absolutely adorable

Well he plays the typical John Wayne hero, but Ford kind of makes the character a PTSD veteran fighting the Natives who is destined to die fighting them.

It's unironically my favorite film of all time

No problem man

>Well he plays the typical John Wayne hero
It's pretty atypical for Wayne aside from being a general tough guy

It's not that far outside his range really. I think he probably had more challenging material in The Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance. I think he was just used well in The Searchers.

This has been my favorite since forever followed by Once Upon a Time in the West and Unforgiven

The Wild Bunch
Ravenous
Once Upon a Time in the West
McCabe and Mrs Miller

Just letting you know that there's a 2013 remake of Unforgiven which turns it from a cowboy movie, into a samurai movie

sauce?

>The Wild Bunch
good taste

Keoma with Franco Nero (Django). It's pretty good in a strange way, but very 1970s Italian.

Favorite duels? For me, nothing comes close to the end of Shane:
