I am quite frankly sick and tired of working on Marvel shows", Reddit user Independent-Ad419 expressed their frustration with the studio. "Marvel has probably the worst methodology of production and VFX management out there", they write. "They can never fix the look for the show before more than half the allocated time for the show is over. The artists working on Marvel shows are definitely not paid equivalent to the amount of work they put in."
On Thor they ask for a complete mini-sequence 2 or 3 weeks before deadline",
I'm on almost three years straight of Marvel. Welcome to the seventh level of hell". Another user shares that their time at Marvel has been a "black hole of sleep deprivation and eating bad".
"I am on my third Marvel project in a row and literally just woke up 5:30 am on a Saturday with stress going 'I don't want to do this anymore'", writes RANDVR. "It's 6 am now and I am making a reel to apply someplace that has projects other than Marvel because I can't do this anymore."
Marvel has seen grown men punch walls and throw monitors from stress. I broke down a couple of times and have seen the strain it can put on marriages. But hey the $$ was fantastic. Fuck Marvel as a client, the credit name is not fucking worth it."
"It took me over six months to recover from WandaVision's crunch. It’s not worth it. Not when there’s better run projects that look just as good out there."
>Disney ruins people's lives to maximize profit yay
Zachary Jenkins
I don't get why every one of these movies has 9000 vfx artists in the credits and everything but Thanos looks like shit. That much collective human effort used to build pyramids.
Everybody knows pajeets are DChads. They're ruining Marvel from the inside
Adam Brooks
The Marvel Method(tm) !!!
Aaron Rodriguez
>Disney treats animators like shit Public knowledge since at least the 80's
Camden Allen
VFX artists should be seen and not heard, literally. Marvel is a corporation churning out garbage at an incredible rate to be consumed by complete morons with no taste. It's business, not art. Just do a half-assed job and pick up your paycheck like everyone else.
Luis Bailey
>But hey the $$ was fantastic.
So you get compensated adequately for it and that's why you choose to do it? Switch jobs if it's so bad, retard.
Evan Reed
>where do you think we are.jpg
Charles Hall
Because literally everything but the actors is CGI and they are only given a few months to do it. Not only that they have to do it for a low price to get a contract and move the company all over the place for the tax credits. I wanted to be an fx artist but thought better of it after 10 min of research. They are probably the most abused group in hollywood.
>grown men These are faggots doing a faggy work. Go work at a coalmine or in construction if you're so tired of starting at a computer screen all day, sissy
Elijah Ramirez
How dare they. Don't they know that Ms. Marvel is the highest rated show on Disney+ and features a muslim girl and goes deep into Islamic culture? That's what's important.
Juan Butler
that's just lazy as fuck
Cameron Campbell
Imagine being such a slave that you allow your job to stress you out to that degree.
John King
>make woke garbage to "fight for social justice" >run literal first-world sweatshops that make people want to kill themselves
Parker Green
That's how Marvel films release so freuqently. Almost nothing is physically constructed. No time is spent on choreography, lighting, set and costume design. Everything is done in post.
Connor Hughes
The final fight in Black Panther looked like such shit because it was reshot and and handed over for VFX studios to complete in less than a month before the movie's premiere.
It wasn't uncommon ten years ago for sequels to take years to plan, film, and complete from all stages of production. Harry Potter streamlined blockbuster release schedules by having a movie come out almost yearly. Some of the things they did to save time: reusing sets (which also established geography and familiarity which Marvel flicks fail to do by throwing setpiece after setpiece) and having the young actors attend school within the Hogwarts set.
Benjamin Evans
Becuase throwing people at a project with little developed structure is literally the worst thing you can do to manage workload.
Nicholas Reyes
The only Marvel worth your time are the classic comics and some of the vidya. If you are wasting your money on anything post Endgame well...
Jaxon Murphy
The reality is that they're seeing it more as a job rather than fun. This is because they're all forced to work on making diverse female leads look good, they were probably tolerating crunch more back when they were having fun. No one skilled (straight white males) actually wants to work on sjw shit
Nathaniel King
Thanos looks like shit too
Robert Bennett
That explains why all those movies look like SHIT
Christian Murphy
What Marvel vidya are worthwhile besides X-Men Arcade and Spider-Man 2?
Cooper Lee
>marveltroon can't read They're all applying to other jobs you retard, this kind of work doesn't even look good on your resume >y-yeah I spent 9000 hours trying to CGI charisma on brie larson uhhh yeah Good luck with that
Hudson Ramirez
these guys should be digging ditches or get into masonry or something
Jeremiah Martinez
I would also like to post about that I like when other people suffer
Christian Morgan
I left the industry and switched to animating porn. The pay is about the same, and I hardly do any work. Life is good. I realize it's similar to a regular draftsman only doing furry commissions instead of drawing landscapes, but whatever, I prefer having no standards over having no time of my own.
