Only for shitty slashers made by retards. Like Terrifier.

Terrifying rare japanese horror bros.

HBO Max I guess. They have a bunch of Hitchcock movies which are horror-ish

Watch this movie

Jesus Christ, how did I forget about HBO Max? I use it way more than some of the others I mentioned. But I meant movie recs on Streaming Services. And I don't like Hitchock. May as well redo my whole post.

Oh I thought you were collecting streaming services, maybe I'm dumb.
If you just want a random movie, watch this one. Yeah it's another The Turn of the Screw adaptation but at least it looks really good

I promised myself no more Turning of the Screw adaptations after trying to watch this a few nights ago. Kate Bush really misled me with Infant Kiss, I went into both this and The Innocents expecting /ss/-kino.

Yes

the cramps are based, my favorite song of theres is creature from the black leather lagoon.
However they aren't really scary, they're just fun and campy horror.

>I went into both this and The Innocents expecting /ss/-kino.
The Innocents definitely has some implied /ss/, or at least undertones of it.

I think I'll always watch a Turn of the Screw adaptation no matter what. I like haunted houses too much.

Songs the Lord Taught Us is a personal favorite. One of my favorite albums ever. Never said they were scary, though, just /hor/.

When did horror movies peak? The 90s?

It doesn't have to be scary. Just have a horror feeling.

I would say 70's or 80's personally

Early 2000s for me. But maybe the 90s too.

>The Innocents definitely has some implied /ss/, or at least undertones of it.
Maybe I'm dumb cause I didn't catch it at all. Was very confused how Kate watched that and then wrote lyrics like
>I've never fallen for a little boy before

>I like haunted houses too much.
Shit, well let's switch gears. Any haunted house horror recommendations? The Innocents wasn't what I wanted or expected it to be but it was nice as an unintentional companion piece to The Haunting (63), which I loved. Other than those two I think I've only seen The Night House and House (77).

Obviously the 70s and 80s. This isn't really a hotly debated subject.

late 70s early 80s.
literally never again.
people could make movies for dirt cheap at extremely relative high quality.

nothing in 90s and beyond comes close.

80s

Late 90s/early 00s

I only like haunted house movies with massive mansions so The Haunting (1999) and Rose Red (2002)

The Haunting (1999) is really good. The protagonist is annoying but on the bright side it has Owen Wilson before he started doing shitty movies

>I only like haunted house movies with massive mansions
Exactly exactly. I guess The Boy also falls into that category. It also has a creepy doll

Is it really? I really liked the original.

I mean, the vibes are extremely comfy haunted house so it's good in my opinion. I haven't seen the original sadly but I might. I just have so much on my backlog already

I still think Rose Red has the most interesting concept of them all with the house being a vampiric entity of sorts that slowly drains the life away from people as to keep expanding itself, and even the ghosts that have been there for long look withered and drained in their true forms

It's pretty good and the mansion itself looks gorgeous.
The cast is pretty solid too.
