Boring as fuck. I got sick of this stupid show trapped in the Bush era partly cause of the unrelenting cyncism. A new angle to take would have been to have had Soldier Boy actually be as good as he's meant to be. He's such a moralfag and if you add in the fathering of Homelander, he ends up Karl Urban's character on the basis that he wants to redeem his son and won't resort to being an assassin. Or you could have Soldier Boy fall due to the delibrate corrupting influence of Urban's character, which paints the protagonist as morally wretched too. Anything except LE GUY WHO IS MEANT TO BE HEROIC WAR HERO IS ACTUALLY... EVIL! A-AND ROICIST TOO!!
