N-Nooo! You can't just make a so-bad-it's-good comedy on purpose! The poor quality has to be sincere, like in The Room!

Darkplace is great but almost every other example of bad on purpose is pure cringe.
Darkplace and Danger 5 might be only 2 things that nailed it. everything else is painful reddit shit like Kung Fury, Machete or the seemingly neverending fountain of shit that is scifi channel and asylum movies

well that'll stop him.

Where do you stand on Batman (the 60s series)?

It's great but by the time it's over I've had enough of that type of humor. They were smart enough not to out stay their welcome.

It played it straight instead of “hey isn’t this bad lol”

Its dated by todays standards but thats just because its old not because it was trying too hard to be kitsch at the time it was made. Plus it was always meant to be comedy, people weirdly act like Adam West batman was accidentally funny like they were trying to make the dark knight and just fucked up.

Who are you quoting you fucking retard

hypothetical people who are real and don't like Sharknado

there's a difference between making something ironic and trying to justify something bad as being ironic

Anyone got an ETA on that chicken?

Darkplace had actual decent comedic writing and wasn't carried by the 'lol its bad!'. It's extremely quotable.

Has enough detail and layers going on that it loops back around to just being an absurd comedy, rather than some meta bullshit.

Son of a bitch.

darkplace is sincere though.

Something was pouring from his mouth. He examined his sleeve. Blood? Blood! Crimson, copper smelling blood, his blood. Blood, blood, blood. And bits of sick.

The talking head interview segments and introductions to the episodes by Garth Marenghi himself are what elevated Darkplace. If it had been just the bad 80's hospital horror drama presented naturally, it would have had the same problem as shit like Samurai Cop 2.

>watch it with the directors commentary on
>suddenly a whole new layer of satire is unlocked

Where can I get this?

>italian seasoning? too vague.

it wasn't "so bad its good" though. it was trying to be, but ended up at just bad.
