I did it twice. once as a kid with my parents. and another time in college. the apartment I stayed at as a kid was fun to me. I could go down stairs and I just smell the pizza from the pizza shop down below being baked and it always smelled awesome. and sometime at night when my parents were asleep would wonder to the step and just look outside and look out while cars were passing by in the dark. it felt comfy

I lived in cool apartments in places like Tokyo and Manila too where you have the sense of "adventure" insofar you can step out the apartment and meet people, get any food within walking distance, small grocery stores near intersections, nice cityscape from your balcony with the city lighting up at night etc, but still it's not comfortable and you never really feel at peace/alone
