it's just shit man, I'm indifferent to the politics

It's weird that the show will make a character of a rightoid or event and people get mad because they self insert as that charicature.

>>show makes fun of both left and alt right
You're a surface level brainlet if you believe this. This show is very leftie and doesn't try to hide it.

t. leftist

You mean Soldier Boy? Homelander isn't rightoid or lefting. He wants to be famous he doesn't care about anything else like the average Hollywood star.

it’s very one-sided political commentary
>the left-wingers support the good guy!
>the right-wingers support the bad guy!

there's no good guy in the boys tho
AOC is a monster
Homie is a monster
Soulja is a monster
Butcher is a monster

this there's not a single good guy in this show you retard lmao maybe Starlight and Hughie.

Starlight and MM are clearly supposed to be the good guys but MM is a side character and Starlight is mostly ineffective. Hughie is SUPPOSED to be the soul of the team, the guy wanting to do the whole thing, but they kinda fucked it over in this season.

>>show makes fun of both left and alt right
Lol. It makes fun of corporations for misusing leftism and twisting it, it doesn't make fun of the real left though. As for the right, it's demonized even in its most basic form and all the "right-wing" characters are utterly hilarious caricatures that utterly break any immersion.
A moment of "criticizing the left" is when a corpo PR manager decides to appropriate blackness for good publicity, and then a black character calls them out on it. A moment of "criticizing the right" is literally centering half the episode around some greasy friendless incel who goes to shoot someone in the head and then tear down statues (as if it wasn't leftists doing this IRL) because they're just crazy and stupid lol.

Not even an American btw.

Typo fucked it up. I meant the show will make a charicature of something and rightoids (mostly from the threads I've seen) feel like they're being attacked. And yeah, I get people saying Homelander is supposed to be "like trump" but like you said, he isn't left or right, he's American.

This. And what perspective are people even latching on to when they think the "leftists" are the "good guys"? The whole show is basically about dangerous obsession.

When has this show ever made fun of the left?

Don't get me wrong, all the seethe it causes in rightoid minds is funny. But they're right in the sense that the show has an inherent political bias while masquerading as impartial.

Things like "racism is bad" aren't really "left" anymore.

They relegated Hughie to a secondary character starting season 2.

MM originally followed the comic in that he's supposed to be this badass black man/Shaft type of character, but a complete cuck and pussy at home who can't stand up to anyone - then it became that he's just a badass who is trying to do best for his daughter and break stereotypes.

The whole series is just boring at this point, the moment they got more than a single season they knew they had to start stretching this out and milking it for all it's worth, so nothing happens and every season now has to end back up at the start with the plot being stagnant.

The good guys all oppose characters who are either right-wing or direct parallels to real life right wingers. MM opposes Todd (Any Forums), Starlight opposes Homelander (Trump+Bush), Butcher opposes Soldier Boy (masculine old right wingers), etc.

The incel thing was reflective of 9/11 where people thought all Arabs might be terrorists. The fact that they tied it to Alex Jones tier shit just makes more sense that social media can radicalize weak people. Nobody asked incel guy to kill anyone, he did it because he was genuinely too naive/stupid to think for himself.

Mostly correct. The show is largely about narcissism and power, and the way the media stars, politicians, and the corporations behind them, capitalize on popular sentiment to acquire and maintain attention and power.

The AOC stuff is a surprise in a show that leans so heavily into making one of its characters an allegory for Trump losing sight of reality in his own narcissistic headspace. But despite that they really haven't done all that much with her so far, and although they have set her up as a major threat for the next season I wonder where they can really go with it as far as an allegory.
There is an official narrative surrounding Trump and his final days that goes "Trump is an narcissistic, deeply insecure and fragile, attention whore who went mad with power in his finale days", doesn't matter if you think its true or not, the fact is that is the popular narrative and they are following it to the letter for Homelander. The AOC stuff with Nadia, the senator/VP, doesn't really have a similarly structured career narrative beyond her background and ethnicity and the allusions to her feel mostly aesthetic and superficial.

This. They criticize corporations for not being leftist enough. That's not criticizing the left. That's defending the left. They aren't both-sidesing this. It's very one sided and I don't even watch the show and I already know that, simply because leftists themselves admit it. There's nothing in leftist ideology that the show actually criticizes.

AOC will turn out to be a good guy all along, screenshot this shit. Show treats Starlight as a perfect character, even then she kills an innocent men show doesn't treat it if she did something wrong. And how the fuck is William "My wife's son" Butcher a monster? What the fuck are you talking about, because he kills objectively shitty people and talks like an asshole?

Akshually the "good guys" opposed the 7. Stormfront (literal Nazi), A-Train (druggie murdered, is he even left or right?), The deep (scientologist), invisible guy (pervert?), Noir (???).

Again, people are just focusing so hard on "the libs are attacking us again!!!" And are forgetting the biggest picture (Vought Corporation is the only one in control)

>I don't watch the show but I already know it
holy shit you're such a fragile baby.

MM in the comic literally sucks his old mom's tits to survive, also his daughter is a crack whore and underage porn star. I'd say show MM is somewhat less cucked.

So the comic's endgame is Butcher killing the rest of his team (who are all on perm V since page 1 in that continuity) and all the ineffectual/good supes until Hughie stops him (and it's revealed he wants Hughie to stop him because he can't stop himself Leto's Joker moment. They clearly allude to that in the show, sure he likes Ryan but possibly Ryan going full evil is going to be the tipping point for show-Butcher.

A-Train's entire thing this season was getting a redemption arc and trying to pretend that he's now a good guy because he put on afrocentric colors and magically started caring about 'the community', even though he's an outright murderer - also you're supposed to hate The Deep because he got his dick sucked and then actually tried to reform.

I watch the show and this guy is not wrong, dispute something he said, go on.

Like all Jewy "centrist" shows they hit right wingers hard and then pull punches on left. It's deceit and obfuscation and pretty much all I'm used to at this point.

> And how the fuck is William "My wife's son" Butcher a monster? What the fuck are you talking about, because he kills objectively shitty people and talks like an asshole?
because he kills people for his goals wtf?

>And how the fuck is William "My wife's son" Butcher a monster?
Gee... Maybe that he's a fucking murderer/serial killer??

>But he works for le CIA
