portuguese "music"

could you understand what they were singing?

sounds similar but I don't think its the same song
also Portugal landscape looks a lot like Argentina or Angola (not tryna be racist)
Is western Spain dusty and prickly too?

Tião Carreiro

Born: December 13, 1934, Monte Azul, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil
Died: October 15, 1993, Beneficência Portuguesa de São Paulo, São Paulo, State of São Paulo, Brazil

I think it's this:
The lyrics sound similar.
>Comprei açúcar comprei canela comprei
Um chicote que é pra bater nela

That's brazilian. It's a musical genre from middle west region called "modão sertanejo"

i did read somewhere Brazil had received a lot of middle westerners like Lebanese, but the song sounds more Mexican
If you know the genre, can you name the song ? pls the tune is stuck in my head at work

here

maybe that link was a cover of original because I followed along the lyrics and they never got to those "compre açucar, compre canela" verse, the song faded and switched to another

that's traditional music from the state of Goiás I think

holy shit thank you!!!

>i did read somewhere Brazil had received a lot of middle westerners like Lebanese, but the song sounds more Mexican

He meant the brazilian "midwest" region: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central-West_Region,_Brazil

In truth such is the tradional music genre of the Paulistania cultural region not only of the centra-west

Did you created this thread too? Where do you find those audios?

>but the song sounds more Mexican
it's sertanejo. countryside brazilian music from portuguese-descendant vaqueiros
the general gist of it can be felt is most of our current musical productions

I absolutely adore this concept

Lol those lyrics nowdays would be considered highly problematic

It's called "O Meu bem falou'

It's a Caipira music genre called Catira or Cateretê, it is also a very tradicional Caipira dance, it was created by Jesuits in São Paulo as a tool to teach natives.

It is not exclusive to the middle west, in fact the whole Caipira culture was born in São Paulo and taken by those regions by our Bandeirantes and Tropeiros ancestors. So the Catira and the Caipira culture exist in the whole Paulistânia region.
Vieira e Vieirinha are from São Paulo.
