I'm half Irish and if the Irish were brown instead of white and Christian it would be a 3 day ban for laughing at them.

But even today, the Irish have recovered, Gaelic is undergoing a revival, they have a high standard of living and education, they are richer than Britain per capita.

Monolingual Irish english speakers will not give up english when they can communicate with everybody else fine in it. You need to make sure English doesn't get hold first and people use Irish as their first language in daily conversation day in day out.
