I am proud of our ancestors who brought to the world sciences, philosophy, democracy, arts and culture.
I am proud of our ancestors who conquered the whole known world and spread the Hellenic culture.
I am proud that the New Testament was written in Greek and was spread by Greeks.
I am proud that the Romans considered Greeks as equals and spoke Greek just as much as Latin, with Greek being the lingua franca in the East.
I am proud of our architecture, our amazing nature, our tall mountains and our green valleys.
I am proud of our picturesque islands, our pristine beaches, and our medieval towns.
I am proud of the Byzantine empire for continuing the Roman Empire.
I am proud of my grandfathers, who fought valiantly in WW2, one in El Alamein and Rimini and the other one in Crete being a rebel against the German barbarity.
I am proud of our resilient people. Despite all the occupations, all the genocides against us, all the hate, we still speak Greek, we still are Greek and we still can read our ancestral texts.
I am proud of the Hellenic pedia, the fact that anybody that embraces Hellenism can be proudly consider himself Greek.
I know we have many problems, I hate our corrupt politicians, I hate our nepotism, I hate the socialist policies we implement, I hate the voting choices we have, but I am still proud and will always be proud. There is nothing more noble, than to love your homeland.

we still had the Greek renaissance back then. Despite barbarians ruling over us we still flourished in arts, literature and philosophy.
People like El Greco, Kornaros with his epic Erotokritos, Ion Dragoumis, Rigas Feraios all flourished during that era.
