Does your country's head of state have his mind set on making you eat bugs and live in a pod?

He's a king. He cannot do anything at all
His job is to wave at people

He is a soiled rich old fuck, he will die soon
He will not give a fuck

spoiled*

Shut up zhang. Your kind already live in pods and eat bugs

He doesn't give a shit the environment. Nor his son. His grandson? Yeah, probably, since it'd affect him. But by then it'll be 2070 or 2080, and the UK will already be under water.

>Snowdonia

wrong the brit royal family still has absolute power over the government
other royal families were neutered but here they are basically just allowing parliament to control the country until they say otherwise which they could do at any time + they have to approve a lot of the things the government does

I'd be drinking cockroach milk every day if it meant saving the planet

Yeah yeah
The king has absolute power except he's not allowed to use it

What a joke

>except he's not allowed to use it
they are allowed to use it though, there's nothing stopping them

Is it even possible for the U.K. to have a binding referendum let alone a binding one on becoming a republic?

In any country the monarchy is very influential regardless of how powerful the parliament is, if he says something then it makes the news, if he promotes something then it gets a lot of attention, the king is the government so if the king does something its as good as a government endorsement. So it puts pressure on the elected leaders to follow through or be criticized, especially as its a popular issue. idk how it is in the netherlands, denmark, spain or norway, but if he wants to, then charles can dissolve parliament and fire whoever he wants, whenever he wants.

Lol just pay for Instagram that's to support you
Much cheaper than kings

The moment he even tries to do anything of the sort the govt will abolish the monarchy

In legal theory no because the justice system derives its power entirely from the crown, as does parliament, but parliament doesnt actually obey the rule of law so it could theoretically try. It would be too controversial and would destabilise the government. A president would just be relentlessly mocked and bullied for being some corrupt non-entity, or if they are prominent then for being a jumped-up celebrity or politician. Also when labour proposed this idea back in the 70s the army conducted a "training exercise" where they seized all of the airports in the country, the military is pretty pozzed and neutered these days but i dont think they'd allow it still.

Can't we just ban private jets instead?

Paarliament is a school-room of people bullying one another and so is the general media. 80% of people in this country pathologically cannot take celebrities or "influencers' seriously, and rightfully so, if someone like that tries to say something then they get bullied and/or completely ignored. Only respectable figures get any real attention, and even they get bullied.

Are bongs really just a bunch of slaves?

Look at the King boarding his environmental friendly private jet for a domestic flight

Do people really take your monarchs seriously?

They should build high-speed rail between all the major royal castles.

>other royal families were neutered
The Dutch King is literally part of the government.

The government is one and consists of both ministers and the King. And they are legally one.
