it was from a different era, there was no agenda behind it
Private Pile was way better.
It's almost like blackwashing isn't the problem, and bad-actor-washing is.
nah it was legit
yep,and great black actors dont want to be used by the far left as puppies.
maybe the SJWs should learn something.
Its because there was no giga white dude to play him
blackwashing is a problem you fucking faggot.
if you have a good black actor but hes playing Bill Clinton or David Beckham in a movie, yes it is bad.
but Bill Clinton was the first black president
/thread he was actually chosen because he was a class actor and it shows
whereas 99% of diversity inserts have this same sort of weird vacant expression on their face, like they are not even there to act
A black actor wouldn't be able to act like those people, because they're real. Kingpin isn't real, so a black actor can competently portray the character.
>tfw the perfect actor for Barracuda is already dead
>there was no agenda behind it
This is the reason. Kingpin is known for his size and stature, so MCD was the best choice for the role even if he wasn't the same race.
it's unlikely now they would blackwash the main villain now unless they got some kind of "redemption arc" by the end
scary as fuck
Exactly.
giant angry black man still works for Kingpin
it would've been odd if he was a shredded Mongolian or something
On principle I don't like racewashing any character in any medium, they should be portrayed as reasonably close to what they were in the source material. But I liked Duncan as Kingpin.
I'm still iffy on the Nick Fury blackwashing. I feel like they need a 'Fury & Fury' storyline with both Nicks, a father & son story.
The spirit of the character was more importantly portrayed than just the skin tones. Duncan in the behind the scenes interviews comes off as an actual fan of the comic series. And he at the time was one of the best big men working at the time in Hollywood, but even that wasn't enough. He was at around 305 when he took the role and had to put on at least 35 more pounds. That and Michael was a very decent actor and fit the role, not like sticking some she-boon in Queen Mary's dress and saying she was Queen of Scots in a movie when the visual alone is so jarring and unsettling. Michael suited it and played it well.
You know, I used to watch the behind the scenes disc for Daredevil a lot, because I wasn't familiar with the character but loved the movie and BTS stuff, it had documentaries on the history of the character and I got to see a real cool look at his style over the years from the blazing yellows to the devil suit we see today. (including Evanescence's "Bring me to Life" music video) It surely is mesmerizing and a testament to Stan Lee being able to think outside the box about taking the disability of blindness, amplfying the other senses capabilities by a million and making it into a superpower more than a detriment and then putting an extremely complex and fleshed out character behind it.
Daredevil was a helluva movie and it was just before the whole capeshit thing started, at least three years before Iron Man. Tonally, it was different than other Marvel films and its execution of trying to visualize how Daredevil saw the world was brilliant. Truly, an unsung gem of a film.
Too on the nose after they made Charles and Eric the MLK and Malcolm X of mutants.
Of course not, because he's a great actor and isn't just a checkbox like they're doing lately.
bro it sucked ass lmao
magneto is jew and jews would get mad at one them being blackwashed even though the real jews are all black
Nick Fury is just Sam Jackson playing Sam Jackson. If he wasn't a meme it would be hated.
>bro it sucked ass lmao
It was either him or a proffesional werestler
True but cases like this are one in a million.
This.
