I live in Toronto. We have a lottt of italains to the point where they are the 5th most common nationality here in terms of heritage ( British, Chinese, Irish, Indian, italain) and iranains are the most common mena people in the city
You can typically tell the two apart not nesscarily on the basis of skin tone but because of facial features. Itlaians here can range anywhere from borderline anglo looking who tan better too ultra swarthoid ( search Alessia cara, Roberto Luongo or Paul stalteri) iranains sometimes unironcally have paler skin but they have very very different facial features that make them look more paki/afghan than southern European
