This movie was supposed to be satirical? All it did was make me wish we had bugmen to kill in full-scale warfare

Is this a low key China-hate thread?

It was bad satire and because of that a really kickass endorsement of space fascism

>inb4 "Buenos Aires was a false flag for literally no other reason than it would make me feel more comfortable with it being a satire if it was a false flag" posters

you are just stupid and already pro-facism so unable to understand satire

the extent of the movies satire is literally
>holy shit fighting for what you believe in is dangerous and you could lose a limb or die or see someone else die! what a fool!

i genuinely dont understand how anyone can praise the movie as some intelligent social critique and not just as a fun sci-fi action flick

The war with China is coming.

That you don’t even see it is why you’re exactly who the movie was satirizing.

Cuz they went from being Space Marines in the book to the Guard in the movie.
Also Heinlein pointing out that children, dogs and women have to be beaten because they have no moral agency triggers libs.

It's only satire if you consider the bugs the good guys.

the source material was not satiric in the slightest. vehoeven is just such a shitty director that he couldn't insert himself into such a richly crafted world.

remember when he tired to say Showgirls was a satire also? but only after it bombed of course. Very wiseauish

it is though. It's not an endorsement of that life.

One thing I've started to wonder after a couple passes through the book is if the Skinnies are actually human rebels and the troops have been thoroughly brainwashed into literally seeing them as alien humanoids while their sensor data is skewed to show them as non human (temperature, height, etc).

me too i want a watkins style death

It's not a condemnation of it either. It's just a thought experiment

Buenos Aries was not a false flag and bugs deserve the rope

The bugs never attacked Earth, it was a false-flag. The entire point of the movie is about the protagonists getting caught up in miliatary propaganda you stooge. Get off Any Forums and stop disappointing your grandparents.

(You)
better now?

Oh look, it's another Starship Troopers thread where the OP pretends it's not his favorite movie.
