If the people who live there are young soys who work as researchers and "scientists" at the university and aren't on welfare, it doesn't seem like a bad idea.

>at the university
THERE IS NO UNIVERSITY NEAR BY.

too many parking lots to be european

Yeah apartments in American cities exist and are all either ridiculously expensive or ghetto hellscapes, what's your point?

dream to own a house in sf has been dead far longer than the rest of this state.

Its a bit pricey but I'm okay with living in a flyover state

>hates appartement towers
>but also hates high housing prices
What's your solution? More suburbs, more lanes?

Literally just end SFR zoning and parking minimums anywhere near public transit and watch the developers work overtime to create more infill.

DUDE THAT WAS ONLY 130K IN 1999.
DID YOU NOT READ IT.
YEA MORE OR LESS. MOST PEOPLE IN THE BURBS WORK THERE ANYWAYS.
MOST MAJOR TECH COMPANYS ARNT EVEN LOCATED IN SAN FRANCISCO. THERE IN THE BURBS
I LIVE IN THE CITY AND COULD CARE LESS.
I DONT HAVE A ISSUE WITH APARTMENTS PER SAY. BUT IF ITS GONNA BE SOVLLESS GLOBOHOMO BOCKS ILL PASS.
WE HAVE QUITE A BIT OF EMPTY SPACE HERE BUT STILL NOTHING GETS BUIT.

A WHOLE NEW CITY ON THE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA COAST WOULD BE NICE TOO.
OFFICE BUILDING TO APARTMENT CONVERIONS SHOULD BE MADE EASIER AS WELL.
>end SFR zoning
don't touch my sovl
>parking minimums
we literally don't have these here.
we have parking maximums
which creates all sorts of problems.

>don't touch my sovl

That's the reality. If more people move into an area, the value of property goes up, and prices go up.

You either build more shit or prices hyperinflate.

>don't touch my sovl
Gas yourself

It’s less localized than that. It’s regional to be honest. And we are far from out of space even in San Francisco.
My neighborhood is terraced and a good amount of it is almost a 100 years old if not older.

You can't make new suburbs without widening the highways and stroads and making new parking lots which are all inherently soulless. I've never seen a soulful strip mall.

You can.
But developers don’t bother for the most part.
This kind of stuff sells pretty well.

>You can.
if they don't then you get stuck in traffic 24/7

Traffic really isn’t really a big deal in most places. LA is not the rest of the state. Feel free to look around on google maps.

I live in a canadian suburb relatively close to the city. Most people have it worse because they're much farther. I know what it's like. You can't lie to me.

I’m not.

a google maps screenshot doesn't proove anything

even if the highway is wide enough to provide mobility it's still an ugly noisy highway
