you can buy smaller dishwashers if you live on your own. Also if you are using pots and pans and have space you should throw them in youre going to save a ton of water over the year using it instead of handwashing

youre not supposed to, unless you dont have a good drain to get rid of the food. Most dishwasers have a grinder in their drains unless you get really cheap ones. Just make sure to stick soap in the prewash and it will clean everything.
