I agree that the original is great but there is always a crowd who says it's the only good one because they can't understand the symbolism and allegory of the 2002 version. Yeah, 2002 has flaws but it is a genius piece overall by McTiernan.

Then you also have the Jonathan and Ridley who represent two American mindsets, don't rock the boat and naive idealism. The club scene has great visuals of red vs blue and the contrast of the military uniforms worn by the servers on the lower and upper floors.
