Wow, I had no idea about this movie or who Jan Svankmajer was but it was utterly fantastic. I love how it utilized that there's something inherently unnerving about stop motion and other practical effects.

The English dub of this film is surpisingly good. I think its part of that era where foreign films reshoot scenes for English and then dubbed them over, but this worked better than most, also helps that the movie has very little dialogue.
