There's no conflict. He's adamantly on the dark side even up to the point of taking Luke to palpy and in the room with them, he does a 180 and completely flips to being "saved". It just doesn't hold water. People don't switch sides like that. Look at Reva, she had a lot of flashbacks, dialogue and development building up her switch. It didn't just randomly happen.
