It's not about being "better" in art. It's about being first. You can write the best fantasy book of all time, but people will still remember Tolkien because he pioneered that genre. You can build a pyramid the size of a mountain, but the Pyramids of Giza will be more known. That doesn't mean remaking works of art is necessarily a bad thing, because it shows how far the field has come since its inception, but you can't remake originality.
impressionism and subsequent styles were all about theory and toppling technical mastery off the pedestal to replace it with trust fund money and a degree in do-nothing.
Chinese unironically churn out decent western tradition art because some old longmarcher in the commie party didn't get updated on all this ideological horseshit and actually demanded skilled illustrators under the pain of getting gulaged, so the rats in academia never had the opportunity to defraud society of their tax money.
>notice anything?
Yes, China makes better stuff and that's why it will rule the world
right is unironically better
Chinese can't into abstract art. They lack creativity.
Once again proving the Asians can only copy whites theory
This. Soul on the right, soulless on the left. Very typical of chinks.
left is missing the point of impressionism
when I look at Van Gogh painting my minds goes to his story, the feeling he felt and crystalized, the bar being luminous and warm, the surrounding building being dark and the sky having stars like blooming flowers, a tormented soul still fascinated by sociality but not enough to engage in it and his mind going to the pristine, lonely sky where he probably felt peace
left is just a bad photo, I feel nothing
notice anything?
Different styles?
>this painting in particular just sold for 217 million USD at an auction in beijing
you know the entire art market is just money laundering right?
What's the point of posting the exact thread twice?
stop making these threads it's shit the left one doesn't even have people
>on the left is a painting by a chinese painter considered the greatest east asian painter of all time.
lie
> this painting in particular just sold for 217 million USD at an auction in beijing.
also a lie
Van gogh wasn't trying for realism of course, and you can't compare a unique impressionist style and styleless semi-realism. It's apples and oranges, they're not supposed to be the same thing
I'm sure this tweet is just rage bait like everything nowadays anyway, but it goes without saying that Van Gogh's works have genuine SOVL, which is something that can't be taught, let alone copied. It's also why Hitler didn't get into art school, he suffered from the same soulless lack of a style/creative eye as this Chinese lady, even if both could depict something with technical skill. That's why theirs is basically just bad motel-tier art, and Van Gogh is still known worldwide to this day
left decides to change to a more boring lighting for some reason, most likely working from a photograph. Uses a pretty basic warm - cool color scheme. The best part of the painting is probably the gradient and broken color on the right hand building. Also doesn't bother painting people at all and spend most of their time rendering chair legs. Fairly competent but not amazing and overall seems pretty SOVLLESS in comparison. Definitely reminds me of kinkade.
Right is a nocture which are my personal favorites . makes good use of complimentary colors and the addition of people makes it seem more alive. This was also painted on location and maybe from sketches on location and it shows. As far as paint application van gogh has more interesting paintings. In conclusion SOVL. Thanks for reading my blog
>be a shitty painter with poor skills
>claim you invented a new style where skill doesn't matter
>libs keep clapping and giving you money and attention
And forgot to mention Van Gogh obviously makes great use of Notan which the chinese painter ironically seems to have no concept of
Left is obviously better, pseuds can cope all they want
arr rooks the saam
No one cares about western style paintings in Asia
Neither do cows and horses in meadows.
what is notan?
Yep. Google says his paintings sold for 200 dollars. And they sold in the West. Asians seem not to give a fuck about pretentious Western oil paintings
