india has a pretty good english education system in place so people can just learn that, there are actually quite a lot of differences between indian languages so someone learning hindi from the far south wouldn't have an easy time
the only way hindi could replace english is through a pretty draconian language policy enforced through the central government and I don't think anyone in india is interested in that

Fix the education system, speaking English or Hindi isn't turning this place into a shithole, and let's be realistic-- it's never changing, none of the local languages have the technical counterparts to fully replace English, it'll always remain the language of commerce and science. We'll all speak English soon enough, might as well fix the country before that.

English poses a lot of problems in understanding concepts of the majority of the local population and has a detrimental effect in the education of the country. Its scientifically proven the children learn much better if their education is in their mother tongue.

It did, but only in a half-assed, Frankensteinian way in which everything that really matters, like official work, research, higher education, international commerce etc is done in English, while Hindi, or any other Indian language is relegated to low quality entertainment. I'm not saying there isn't good literature being written in regional languages, but it's not enough to topple English from its throne.

They have already built their education system with their languages from the scratch, whereas we have a large professional labour force that already speaks and work English to a large extent and has been educated in the same throughout his life. Unless you plan on bloating the system even more that it already is, it's impossible, because then you have an experienced generation of workers that already deals in English while the next gen doesn't.

10th pass students are unable to speak coherently and fluently in either English or their mother tongue, and writing ability is that of a 10 year old.
Most end up taking stemcel jobs where language is less of a hurdle and yet struggle in basic communication, or end up as call centre slaves

Yes, and that's what I pointed out in my previous post, the foundation of our generation of workers has already been laid in English, and it would be extremely hard to change it without bloating our already fucked up education system.
Since the foundation has already been laid, all we can do now is fill the holes in it because we all know how competent Indians are at making and enforcing new laws.
