Because most balkanoids aren't genetic slavs but rather are slavic-speaking. In the case of Serbs they obviously have turkic roots, despite their orthodox religion and slavic language.

desu many words in Russian and Ukrainian also have non-slavic origin. Maidan (square in Ukrainian) comes from the arabic word Meydan. Similar examples can be found in Russian.

Funny thing is that Croat nationalists agreed and during WWII insisted that Croats were slavinized decendents of Goths.

Mongols ruled Russia for a roughly same time period as Turks ruled Serbia, and Mongols were much more tolerant of rape and interethnic interreligious marriages than Turks, so it makes perfect sense that you are more Mongol than Serbs are Turk.

But to be serious, genetically speaking Russians fragment into Northen Russians (who are not "pure" slavs and have some finno-ugric admixture) and Southern Russians, who are genetically speaking the same kind of people as Ukrainians, Belarusians, Poles and so on.
Although in practise this dosen't really matter, since nation states nowadays are civic conceptions, united by things like a common language, culture, traditions and so on.

The entire identity of Turk is based on an inferiority complex and nationalist propaganda from the state.
That's why Turks can be isamists and degenerate globohomists in the same vicinity .
There's no uniform because they're a mentally enslaved people that don't know what they are.
Every Serb knows what they are. Slavic heritage and Orthodoxism are core tenets in the Serbian identity.
