Who is the best filmmaker to debut in the 21st century?

Stop making /film/ threads if you can't make them properly, you fucking imbecile.

I refuse to post in these stupid fucking generals while the rest of the board is shit up with capeshit and Star Wars

Actual kino fans need to be making new threads not confined to these bullshit generals

I just finished watching all the Human Condition movies of Kobayashi. Highly recommended, great photography and a story about a person with moral integrity in a very unforgiving world. Also, Kubrick stole the plot in the 2nd part of the trilogy to do full metal jacket .

Any other Japanese WWII kinos?

Fires on the plain
The Burmese harp

Robert Eggers

I need a filmmaker from either the 1970s or 1980s to finish their entire filmography. No one too famous please

Wim Wenders

I enjoyed Ghost in the Shell, thank you for the recommendation.

Any other movies which focus on the idea of personhood etc?

I really enjoyed Under the Skin and Perfect Blue, kind of similar theme.
