America communist architecture what?

Eastern block architecture was influential in the west for a time. But that ended in the 70s for the most part.

Brutalism isn't "communist architecture", it was invented in the west and first applied in the west.

Most of what you associate with "brutalism" in eastern Europe isn't even proper brutalism, just extremely simplified modernist architecture of poor quality due to lack of money. Bare concrete wasn't a deliberate choice of the architects like it was in the west, just they had no money to finish the building and cover it with some expensive cladding.

It became the dominant style in the Soviet Union in the mid 50s.
But other soialists in England where doing there thing with exposed concrete.
Mostly pod construction like in the Soviet Union.

Yea finland is full of ddr schooled architects who ruined our country in 60s and 70s.

Mine has it as well.
You can see how it contrasts with the post modern building next door.

It’s post modern elements are more obvious when you are inside though.

So what? Just because chess was popular in the USSR doesn't make it a Russian game.

Dual adoption and cross influence.

it's fairly easy to confuse brutalism and soviet modernism unless we talk about apartment buildings 2bh

>adoption

exactly, it was adopted by communist countries from the west and it doesn't make it communist architecture, especially in the west

Then what did communist invent?

suffering

Nothing really

I don’t think you would object to calling it socialist architecture.
