We pay a property tax for houses and land. It's proportional to the value.

Larger garden: higher tax
Posh neighbourhood: higher tax
So, pool: higher tax
Mind you, people with low income are exempt from said tax, so if you're a poorfag but inherit a manor with private forest and olympic pool, you're not taxed.
I seem to recall retired people become exempt as well, under certain conditions.
