Why do you think? Americans are entitled in the first place, arrogant, and think fast food workers don't deserve any respect. They go to food place and expect the exact same quality meal they've had before. If it differs in any way - not even bad, just different - they will have to go back and demand a full refund and free replacement. 90% of the time it's given just to get them to fuck off. The other 10% they're refused and it usually ends with a physical, violent altercation.
Just at my local McD's a guy was upset over a long wait (3 employees serving 30+ people) and told the manager to come at him and yelled at the workers for not just giving him his food and was ultimately given his food which he immediately threw on the ground and walked out. Another time it was one guy serving a similar amount of people, so a pissed off customer walked behind the counter and squirted him with mustard. When he stepped out to call the cops he then pushed over all the trash cans, stole some burgers and smeared them on the cash register. They've had their doors locked since and the store has converted to a drivethrough/doordash only branch. The city is trying to ban them before their lease is up because black people can't get no food as a result, and that's racist.

All my local McDs are going to drive-through only or single-counter setups where all orders must be done through the app or single cash kiosk. The only interaction with the employee is to obtain the correct order. Even then, nobody wants to do this because 90% of the time the employee will hand them their order, but they would want something different like extra sauce or another cheese slice. The employee then refuses, because house menus like this don't exist in the app, and then they get very upset and demand to fire them and that they always eat there and they'll be waiting for them outside. Sometimes they do, in which case an adult construction worker/laborer yells and shouts a small undersized mexican woman or teenager down because they couldn't get some more pickles.
It gets especially bad when free refills are removed. When this happened, customers would come up and demand free soda. When they couldn't get it, they'd kick the window or shove their hand through the opening or take their drink and throw it on the ground. Then they come back the next day and wonder why they are banned.

Another time I was at a Wendy's drive through at 3am. Guy in front of me gets his order, but he wants another side burger. Cashier tells him to drive around and get back in line so he can do the next three people. He refuses. Cashier then says ok and walks out, gives us our orders (taking the card back first because only in-n-out and chick-fil-a can afford portable readers) and then shuts down the drive through. Guy blows up and storms out and slaps him. Guy continues back into the store as food is thrown at him. Then, the next morning he shows up at 9am to talk with his manager to have him fired. But since the store has no manager, he's asked to leave by the teenage cashier. He then calls the kid every name in the book, who is now crying, threatening to stalk and kill him when the police show up and gently escort him outside. Also, while this is happening my arm is 24 inches (60 cm) into the toilet as I spent the previous five hours pulling out all the laundry, broken needles, and batteries flushed by homeless people the previous day.

Another McDonalds, around 4am. Sign says no cash until 6am. Lady drives up and demands change for $100 for her meal. Cashier says no. She screams at him for a few minutes then pulls up to the window to scream at him some more. He still says no and shuts off the intercom. She pulls around near my truck and knocks over a cone. I walk over to her and kindly remind her that I'm pumping out 600 gallons worth of kitchen grease, and she needs to park on the other side of the lot. She refuses and calls me a bitch. I tell her I can't work if she does that. Her kid tells me to get a better job and that I'm a loser. Now they are outside of the car, standing above the grease trap. The trap drops seven feet into a 200 F (94 C) tank that contains putrid smelling oils that were previously french fries. Kid #3 tells me I'm smelly while kid #4 tries my truck toolbox. Instead something falls off and hurts him.
Mom (who was screaming at the door and throwing her complementary soda at it) is now over looking at his boo-boo. I'm such a bad person, how dare I endanger their lives so much! I am a monster for letting them get near my truck and for putting my hands on them. She threatens to call the police. I call the police right there and re-enter the cab. A few minutes later police arrive (they all just got on shift) and ask her why her car has expired plates. After a few minutes of screaming with them she's arrested for confessing to driving with a suspended license. Then kid #2 is arrested for carrying a firearm. She's asked why her kid has a gun and she's like it's not a gun it's a toy. The cop racks the slide back and shows her the bullets. She then accuses me of planting it on him and more screaming and yelling until they're taken away. I finish my shift 6 hours late due to this, because I missed my spot at the dump site and had to wait in line a long time. A few days later my car tires were slashed.

FYI, prisoners in jail treat me much better because they know if they touch me their access to human food is eliminated. The worst is at highschools, I've seen teenagers push over lunch ladies for a choccy milk, I've been spit on because I didn't give them access to the soda storage room (this was before obama banned soda in schools), and I've had them gang up on me to try and steal my wallet (which I obviously don't keep on myself, it's in a locked compartment inside the cabin). I also have to tape all the toolbox doors shut so they don't try and sneak into them. This was before they tried stealing my toolbox right off me, which didn't work out well because by this point I had to be accompanied by the school police officer at all times. Later, I learned that the other company refused to service the school because two 7th graders broke his collar bone when they were stomping him for speaking mexican.

Not much else that isn't random methheads and homeless people trying to stab me for money and then getting a breaker bar to the face. Police don't investigate homeless crimes anymore, so it's no problem for me. Don't think I could get away with shooting them but I've had teenagers shoot me with pellet guns and those awful water bead guns that are now banned in my state. Most resultant workers get screamed at least once a day and are expected to provide with a servant's heart (tagline from another company I used to work at). Other fun times was seeing a groid cut me off and brake check me, which didn't end well because tanker trucks stop slow. His '17 Nissan Altima SV was pinned between my front bumper and the divider, then dragged for 100 feet (30 meters). Her rear bumper was fiberglass and plastic attached to an aluminum unibody. My front bumper was a 20" sold steel wrecker step with a winch and 4" cast iron hose port on it. The trunk was crushed entirely destroying the last four years of her laundry, the back window popped out and the car bent slightly so the doors popped open. I can still remember seeing his friend sitting in the front seat screaming and looking at me like he was gonna die. All four of them then got out, threw a bunch of shit at my truck, and were promptly arrested for possession and the driver arrested for DUI.
Later they tried breaking into our office, but they pussied out and decided to just point guns at us from their cars. They drove up and did this at my coworker's elementary school where his kids go, and did it to all the children in front. End result of this was a big police investigation and actual prison time. Not that it matters since they all made parole and were promptly re-arrested over another freeway takeover. The ones that got out early smoke weed all day and don't want to work because working is for losers, and I know this because they busk for money at the only remaining in-person mcdonalds.
