There are two types of religions. Proactive religions and reactive religions.

Proactive religions developed organically in socially stable enviroments throughout centuries. Examples of proactive religions; hinduism, taoism, catholicism, native american religion.

Reactive religions grew in socially unstable enviroments and were reactions against social injustice and social sclerosis, the jews developed judaism while they were captives in Egypt. Germans developed protestantism due to catholic corruption. Rastafaris developed their religion during their slavery. Arabs developed Islam due to zoroastian decadence.

Proactive religions tend to incorporate many "saints", gods and images, races, nationalities into their ranks, as they tend to be more tolerant due to their organic development. They also have a more coherent approach to reality.

Reactive religions tend to develop extremist thoughts and sectarians movements, due to their exclusive nature. The jews consider themselves the chosen people. Protestants believe only they are true christians (also fear sex), muslims believe non muslims are animals, rastafaris believe black people are superior, etc.

Not reading that retarded bullshit by a thirdie shithole flag.

I'd say these are reactive religions but with a proactive religion as base. After all they were developed as a reactions against ottoman islamic empire.

There are instance where proactive tolerant religions develop as intolerant sectarian and extremists religions, specially true in the age of colonialism, where many of these organic religions were displaced, banned or persecuted

Orthodox christianity was developed from the teachings of Jesus, the Son of God and was unchanged ever since
Catholicism split from it for material and political gain

braaaaaaaaap

>catholicism
kek

Christianity in general developed under roman tyranny so it's also a reactive religion. Catholicism is just the roman state finally embracing Christianity so it's basically a state-based religion hence why their corruption and oppressive nature.

>catholicism
>proactive
Christianity steems from a small jewish sect that developed under a roman period in the levant probably heavily influenced by the tyrannic nature of the roman rule, rule that caused several uprisings and the destruction of temple to the extent most jews had to migrate out of the levant.
Later on this cult, which was pretty much a religion of slaves dedicated to poor masses with a sensitive touch of reality was cohorted and corrupted by romans and turned into a state religion and instrument for control giving rise to catholicism.

Catholicism is a reactive religion that was born from a reactive cult

Centralized religion wins against decentralized religion, historically speaking

Your analysis is overly functionalist. This is no better than 19th century anthropology with the amount of shit you're making up.

There are two types of religions, those free from judaism and those poisoned by it. The first kind is practically non existent today. You are a clueless mexitard

How is catholicism proactive according to your classification? It began in a really socially unstable enviroment during the last days of the Roman Empire. Maybe you are referring to the fact that it eventually became proactive. Would that be a possibility in your classification? I'm really interested in your post.

Missed Shintoism in that but sure

>hinduism
Hindus and Buddhists thought the world was flat until the 16th century.

>catholicism
Is a reactive religion. They were under Roman rule and people were killed for its existence.

What? Do you know basic history? Do you know about the Byzantine Empire? Kys

Doubt. Surya Siddhanta (an ancient Hindu text from 2nd century BCE) even lists the diameter of all planets from Mercury to Uranus, and it's very accurate.

Maybe it was a local belief in certain sects.

So what you're telling me is, to be reactive is to be based, and to be proactive is to be cringe?
