Turks had the benefit of being able to adopt military technology from the Arabs and statecraft from the Persians so they established their foothold in India. Almost the same thing which happened with Hinduism happened to Islam except far worse after the Mongol conquests but it still took until the 1600s for Hindus to fully adopt modern military technology and tactics with the likes of Shivaji, but it was already too late since industrialisation would soon start in Europe and everyone else was left in the dust.
