The Man of the Hole (c.1960s – August 2022), also known as "Indian of the Hole"...

The Man of the Hole (c.1960s – August 2022), also known as "Indian of the Hole", (Portuguese: índio do buraco) was a man indigenous to Brazil who lived alone in the Amazon rainforest. He is believed to have been the last member of his tribe.[1] It is unknown what language he spoke or what his tribe was called.[1][2] The term "Man of the Hole" is a nickname used by officials[3] and the media; his real name is unknown.

Other people first became aware of the Man of the Hole's isolated existence in 1996.[3][5] It is speculated that the rest of his tribe may have been killed in a number of clashes with ranchers and loggers in the 1980s and 1990s, based on attacks on another uncontacted tribe in the same region and the discovery of the ruins of a small village with 14 similar deep holes in each hut which had been bulldozed in early 1996,[5] with one expert explaining that "he should not be seen as a recluse hiding from society. The man is the survivor of a genocide. He didn't choose to live alone."

In August 24, 2022, he was found dead by FUNAI in his home, "lying down in the hammock, and ornamented [with macaw feathers] as if waiting for death", as an indigenous expert later commented. The body was transferred to Porto Velho for autopsy, in an attempt to figure the cause of death.[11] In August 27, Indigenous expert Marcelo dos Santos said the man should be buried in the same place he lived and died, in a memorial constructed by the state, and the territory should be immediately protected as it risks being invaded and degraded.

rip índio do buraco

So, how could they possibly know if his tribe was wiped out in "genocide" if they don't even know what tribe it was or who they fought or the reasons they fought?

It's still pretty cool that there are "uncontacted" tribes in Brazil, but it's even more sad that they may not know of Christ and His love.

:( Indio do buraco

christcuckoldism has to be a mental illness. just let the man rest and be reborn in peace.

Damn, I didn't even know he was sick.

You don't need organized religion to develop a connection with God. Holefriend made peace with something before he died or he wouldn't have dressed up.

>There are stone age men out there younger than my grandparents
Kinda wild ngl

Rest in peace

funniest thing about this is the countless genocides when either never hear or no one will ever know about - you do remember our natives fucking hated each-other, right?
they were at constant war, the reason the Portuguese became good friends is because they made alliances to help kill the other tribes

My mind wanders a lot thinking about this stuff

Imagine being the last of your people. I imagine the profound sadness he must've felt

Based Bandeirantes knower, we Caipiras indeed descend from them.

Bandeirantes were worthless mongrels too. Largely uneducated mercenaries.

Good god do back to /bra/ with your schizophrenia

this is why im happy jews are sending 50 millions non white to europe every few decades

white genocide soon

Shut up, stop spreading misinformation. Our Bandeirantes ancestors were the builders of everything worthy in this country, our people is embedded of the same Herculean will of Alexander and Caesar, we did what no men in this continent was capable of doing.
>mongrels
We are proud of both our Iberian and Native heritage, our legacy wouldn't be as great as it is without the Native.

I'm totally sane.

Man*

They were uneducated mercenaries.
They didn't even knew how to write, much less how to build anything.
To compare with conquerors like Alexander or Caesar is a huge insult

'Race of giants', 'fearless adventurers' and 'nothing stops these intrepid men', this was the description given by the French naturalist Auguste de Saint-Hilaire about the Caipira people when he visited São Paulo in 1816. We were responsible for crossing Tordesilhas, founding cities, building roads, fighting tameless Natives, starting cattle ranches and coffee farms, it was Raposo Tavares, Anhanguera, Fernão Dias, Borba Gato, Domingos Jorge Velho who built Brazil, it was the intrepidity of the Bandeirantes, Tropeiros and Boiadeiros who, having been born in São Paulo de Piratininga, expanded Brazil far beyond Tordesilhas, where the man from the coast could never dream of being, taking with them the almost mystical mix of the free and independentist spirit of the indigenous woman and the fearless and civilizing spirit of the Iberian man.
