The US was choking Japan via an oil embargo. No matter what would have happened, Japan needed to somehow break America to get this back, or they would’ve simply ran out of fuel. As for Siberia, Japan was completely buck broken by the soviets time and time again. A total war would have probably lead to an earlier invasion of manchukuo would japan definitely would have lost.

Even if a German-Japanese rivalry developed, there's no way the US govt would decide to approach the Japanese without them renouncing their expansionist claims toward the UK and China.
The only scenario where the US would allign its interests with Imperial Japan would be a much stronger Soviet Union threatening an invasion or revolution in Japan.
