America is so depressing

I hate that there's literally nothing to do here except go to fast food, chain restaurants, walmart, and consoom shit. It's like there's no soul or community here anymore.

Literally the only good thing I can think of about this country is that we have some nice national parks and the country has lots of untamed land. But even when you go on a road trip you're just bombarded with billboards and advertisements and drive by fast food chains constantly.

I just moved from Alabama to a smallish town in east Texas (100k pop) and it is literally the EXACT same shit. It's just fast food, chain restaurants, a walmart...Americans here know what I mean. Everyone is fat too (unsurprisingly, there's literally jack shit to do in this country except stuff your face). There's no festivals, there's no local events, there's literally nothing. Every other person you meet is an immigrant or son of an immigrant (even in a random small town in East Texas I see girls in hijabs and shit, no idea how they found this place) so nobody really has any sense of community now either. I don't even see kids play outside anymore.

Where's the soul in this country?

Tyler?

Deserved for shitting up countries for decades. I hope you and your family get murdered

I live in a Californian city of 250,000, and it's exciting I'm the sense that you may be murdered at any time. The rich areas in California are boring, and close down by 6 pm. In my city shit stays popping 24/7.

You are exactly the kind of American we're looking for. When can you move here?

My man you live in the Deep South what do you expect?

Least the south is getting betterz.

Yes lol
Do you live here?
>t. Hernando Fernandez the third
cant wait to see you on liveleak hombre

>There's no festivals, there's no local events, there's literally nothing
That's a location problem THOUGH. And we have outdoors stuff so there's that. Obviously sometimes it's not this simple, but just move somewhere else more fun.

>Where's the soul in this country?
South Philadelphia

i was born there
i haven't been there in close to 10 years. moved to the Midwest. it's better?

I hate self hating Americans so much it’s unreal

I'm white

>it's better?
Are you asking me? Or saying the Midwest is better

not sure. i have baggage. etx is not a great place to be from.

>i have baggage. etx is not a great place to be from.
can you tell me more? i've only been here about a month. i've spent most of it holed up in my apartment because every time i go outside i am not a fan of what i see.

tell me everything you're willing to tell me. what kind of shit happens here, why it sucks, your history here, etc. anything. i'll read it all

Hello my fellow human brother, Im a immigrant myself and I think you may just be lost, there are a lot of things you can do in this beautiful piece of land. I encourage you to google psytrance festivals in NA, they have small and very friendly community, if you go alone people will talk to you kindly and make you feel at home. If you're afraid to go alone you can hmu I love to make frens.
Also if you're interested in politics, sports or science there are places for you too. I enjoy meeting at my local library and go almost everyday to open gym for gymnastics/tumbling. Just say hello to people! They might seem scary but they are just shy, most of them would love to talk to you :) good luck in your journey.

my experience was growing up dirt poor
kinda tells itself.
parents and everyone i knew were on drugs. those small towns on the outskirts were what any normal person would call 3rd world. my choices in life were that or be a religious freak it seemed like. man, what a waste. maybe it isn't so different from anywhere else. but yeah, whataburger and Walmart and playing videogames in your apartment. begging god for someone to take you away from that nightmare. but I'm not allowed to hate because Texas is rich. unless you're us

>whataburger and Walmart
yep, that about sums it up perfectly. just go back from walmart earlier today and i worked whataburger night shifts lmao. i don't mind the religious people but the guy across from my apartment is a black drug dealer stinking the place up, yesterday he dropped a bag of weed when he was going down the stairs lol

how'd you escape?

There are some dive bars you can go to and talk to people. I used to sometimes in my old city since I had no close friends there. But I never made any friends at them. Eventually I got so lonely I moved back to my old city because I have close friends here

Well, you can change it for your future children. Go to rural Scotland or Ireland or Spain and make your children have a sense of community.

>how'd you escape?
there's no escape. not to be dramatic. but i still carry that place on my back wherever I go

was it that bad? what was so terrible about it?
i guess it helps that i didn't grow up here, i'm just here transiently. i view it indifferently and plan to move out soon

I've seen the world with help from others from the internet, comparatively, I don't think most people would choose to live there. but yeah maybe growing up there has cost me a little bit of deep-seated hate. then again maybe it's like most of the United States
