I've starting doing this too, where as before I would just wear a t-shirt and maybe a hoody. I'm 31. Is it a boomer thing?

It's all fashioned. Today French aren't Westerners anymore even if jeans had been invented in France. We were djelabas.
It looks more "adult" so I don't really mind, if I was fit I'd probably still wear it.
Not really common as it doesn't really fit any seasonal climate.
People don't wear long pants in the summer here, if it's warm enough for a t-shirt it's warm enough for shorts/skirt.
If it's cold enough for long pants it's too cold for a t-shirt.
