I prefer Korea to the UK, it's far less grim.

However, I do miss good western food options, and korean versions of food is often very sweet which is weird

my parents were tired of the lack of freedom and constant stress they ahd living in China and wanted to settle somewhere more quiet. Portugal had the easiest Golden Visa rules at the time so they chose to came here. They come only during the summer at first but the constant lockdowns were the last straw and we settled here full-time. I am in Lisbon and I honestly can't complain about life here.
It's not a rich country but the quality of life is infinitely better than a lot of places

I don't feel homesick but I do miss my friends. Haven't been able to click with many people here, nobody my age (early to mid 20s).
I'm leaving for Italy for 1 year then coming back here to finish my master studies. Hopefully going back to university will improve my social life. Fucking hate the 9-18 work schedule, I feel tired and uninterested in socializing after a day of work.
