Not saying it just because I’m American, but it’s America that has the more altruistic people, you can cherry pick examples where a nig nog knocks out an innocent old man or something but on the macro scale it doesn’t compare, Americans are charitable people by nature

Russian exchange students tell me you don't need to lock bikes and can leave your laptops on the table when going to the bathroom. Most US and Canadian cities that's a guaranteed theft.
At the same time Russians seem to hate each other and are constantly backstabbing or yelling at each other. Nobody smiles also. Total difference to North American culture where being pessimistic is seen as abnormal and suspicious.
