Visually stunning movies?

What are some visually stunning movies? I just bought a 4k OLED TV and want to pirate some bluray to try it out.

Sorcerer is more technically stunning/impressive than visual, and sadly not available in 4k.

You haven't seen it on a big screen yet.

Youre right, I gotta put it on the big TV one day. Love the movie, but to me is was always more of a "in awe they pulled that off without dying" and less of a "wow, that looks really great". Visually stunning I think more of 2001, Blade Runner, old westerns, and so on.

First Man

The Apollo 11 documentary (I think from 2019) is stunning.

Apocalypse Now

Also: the roads are still shit there

Malick films
Tarsem films
POTC original trilogy
Herzog's volcano documentary Into the Inferno

it's both. I would also say The Exorcist is a visually stunning movie, but I understand you're looking for something slower and more focused on the visuals.

I think the Herzog/Kinski films are really similar visually to Sorcerer (Aguierre/Fitzcarraldo), so if you like one youll like the other
Im not OP, I just tried to find stuff similar to the picture, more "stunning" than "impressive"

I agree fitzcarraldo, aguirre, and cobra verde are set in the sorcerer timeline. The documentaries are different though.

Klause
A Cure for Wellness
Rogue One
Barry Lyndon
Last of the Mohicans
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

havent watched the docus yet, but especially Fitzcarraldo has this gritty, realistic, yet beautiful look that reminds me of Sorcerer. Lush jungles vs mans creation, oil, blood, and sweat kind of stuff.

Hero
