My weeb ass got into learning Japanese a few days ago. I’ve been going through the Hiragana but I haven’t even dared entered Katakana or Kanji territory. So far I’m using anki 2k/6k core, duolingo, drops, and lingo deer.
Katakana is easy, it should only take you a couple of days to memorize. Also you should read the grammar guide.
Learning words like that is unnecessary for any language. Just read a grammar guide after getting done with hiragana/katakana. You also don't have a time limit
Summer is over in less than a month
