Corpse Bride

How come stop-motion movies like this are so damn rare? I mean there's still Nightmare Before Christmas but Corpse Bride is far superior story.

Because it isn't the kind of movie that focus groups or marketing teams would create. It requires trusting a human to follow their inspiration, which is becoming increasingly rare.

Making them is not easy you know
But I'm glad Laika still exists

Burton always makes good shit when he's not tied down by studios intervening, which sadly hasn't been in a long while. We need another Corpse Bride/Scissor hands/Beetlejuice style film where he just makes what he wants instead of being contracted by Disney or whoever for le spooky reboot

Tim Burton is one of the few filmmakers who still cares about stop motion
too bad he mostly makes movies for
disney now, and modern disney has this magic of suckling out talent from every person they work with, even Burton and Raimi couldn't escape it

Hopefuly Wednesday will be good

Studios like to be able to run movies past focus groups and change scenes as they please. A stop motion movie has to be planned out and takes enough time that you can't do a bunch of reshoots because a producer thinks it's a good idea.

Like Disney seems to budget their movies now with the expectation that there will always be reshoots of some sort or to change scenes with cgi. It's why they do all the green screen, they can change tons of shit in scenes a lot easier now.

Lol don't hold your fucking breath

Stop motion is extremely hard and time consuming to make so only passionate film makers would ever want to attempt it in the first place. As we know, Hollywood is not full of passionate film makers.

>How come stop-motion movies like this are so damn rare?
Because stop-motion is the medium of masochists and madmen.

>see that there is a new Henry Selick kino coming out
>get excited
>see it's co-written by Jordan Peele
>hope it's not going to be about niggers and wyte ppl are le bad
>see teaser clip

coraline is better than corpse bride

>A stop motion movie has to be planned out and takes enough time that you can't do a bunch of reshoots because a producer thinks it's a good idea.
this is the main reason most of them are really good.

they are rare because it takes a shitton of work and skill....
anyway watch coraline if you have not already and maybe get some console emulator and play neverhood and skull monkeys

also mary and max.... but you have to be in the mood... its kinda deperessing

Nothing from that clip indicates that it’s going to be about yt peepol bad.
It may be, but the teaser doesn’t show it.

I'm surprised Burton isn't doing a Batman 3, given the return of Michael Keaton and Tobey Maguire/Andrew Garfield and the demand for sequels with them proves there's a market for that kind of thing.

big fish and sweeny todd have also been pretty good imo

Corpse bride had way more neat scenery and better tunes. Coraline was fine

Laika comes out with a new film every couple years, user.
