And nothing of value was lost.

Normies absolutely hate 3D for some reason.

We of weak eyesight have to wear out glasses AND 3D glasses for the experience. And the shots made to make it appealing were only okay for action movies. I guess not many would find the point of watching some serious drama/thriller IN 3D!
Augmented reality could be a good gimmick for home media, if it was like a videogame; find a clue or hints or something hidden to get another scene or ending. But add too many and you'll be wondering "hey, why not just make a videogame of this property"?

3D will always be nothing more than a gimmick. VR too

big mistake since avatar 2 is about to revive 3D big time

That's a stupid fucking gimmick and everyone knows it

3D was an uphill fight for something that'll be a dead end once lightweight and polished VR/AR becomes popular for everyday stuff in another 10 years or so.

No 3D porn.

ok shill

It'll come back in two to three decades when a new generation experiences it for the first time, once again

Never even see these on display at any store. Are these things dependent on movies being made in 3D or does it have 3D conversion stuff in it?

The slight strobing of the active 3D glasses always gave me a headache. Also wearing regular glasses with them was unfeasible so I could never get a convincing 3D effect.

We need screens that can emulate depth without the need of peripherals, not just for movies, but for gaming and it even have useful application in certain science / engineer fields.

nah, VR is going to take over the world once the headsets get small/light enough and the field of view is wide enough that you can forget you have one on

that's all it'll take for widespread adoption

VR headsets will be as prevelant as smart phones by 2040 is my guess

This is most zoomersa

It's always a gimmick.
If they can make glass-less 3tv, maybe people will give it another chance.
