that was the charm of the original film : its minimalistic feel. It's gone in the sequels, since the cast got a lot bigger

Shrek 2 has little to no charm. I checked the credits and noticed something : there were no females involved. Directors, producers, writers and storyboarders were all dudes. They made an edgy, cynical and crass film, yet forgot to add some charm or innocence (which Shrek 1 had)
