this and unlimited calls to home phones and 5 hours calls to mobile phones for 34 euros I think

expensive for this shithole but our ISPs and their prices are literally cartel style

I live with my parents and we pay 50 euros a month (so also about 50 USD) for internet, landline phone and a selection of TV channels

Good competition, and the right amount of government regulation. Most ISPs have been investing a lot in fiber infrastructure to keep up with the competition, at least two big ISPs have announced that they are in the process of migrating to XGSPON and will start offering symmetric 10Gbit plans "soon".

Huh, turns out my ISP already has a waiting list for a 2Gbit plan, $58/mo.
