Good competition, and the right amount of government regulation. Most ISPs have been investing a lot in fiber infrastructure to keep up with the competition, at least two big ISPs have announced that they are in the process of migrating to XGSPON and will start offering symmetric 10Gbit plans "soon".
Huh, turns out my ISP already has a waiting list for a 2Gbit plan, $58/mo.
1gbps down, 300 mbps up
20 eurobucks/month
Or at least until they raise the price, I'm on an indefinite period contract so they'll probably come knocking at some point with the batshit insane inflation in this country.
