Akira was overrated and boring, but Cowboy Bebop was fun.
Some femoid recommended Ranma 1 1/2 to me, but I found it degenerate and trash. Tenchi Muyo! was haremshit but at least had fun characters.

I just watched this today, the animation and music were great all the way through but it was weird how little on-screen character development Kazumi got considering she's ostensibly a secondary protagonist. It's also interesting seeing Anno throw out ideas early on that he would come back to for both Evangelion and the Rebuilds in a major way
