Unironically yes, the only time you hear Filipinos speak their supposed mother tongue properly is in the provinces.

Why even use the language if you have so many loan words? Why doesn't the government just try to enforce more natural sounding ones, like the French do when they ban people from using "e-sports" and "advertising"

They kinda do, with the KWF, but there's too many people in the country to police language, English is seen as untouchable here.

I speak a trade language (picrel) that is based on Chinook, has some syntax and vocabulary aspects of French & English, and other words from ~36 indigenous PNW languages. It's a lingua franca so I think that's reasonable.
