the ending of the first left me euphoric but the 2nd one is just depressing
also, why did he help her lol i thought >spud never hurt anybody
its a great sequel tho. kino movie
one of the best scenes
really loved the flashbacks
Better than I expected, really enjoyed it, but I do agree it was depressing.
it’s the opposite for me I found it life affirming
those guys should have been lying dead face down in a gutter and forgotten the way they were living their lives but they managed to unJUST themselves slightly and even though life will never be perfect for them they at least have something to live for besides drugs.
it’s realistic not depressing IMO. mega feels when they saved mark from hanging
CUUUUUUUUUNT
Even before watching it, the fact it existed already made the end of the first movie bittersweet. After watching it, it completely demolishes what the first movie's ending established, and it's a fucking gut punch. It's a good movie, but it makes rewatching T1 much heavier
Wait, there was a sequel? I taped trainspotting on vhs back then and now I'm finding out there was a sequel? This is mario128 levels of fuck.
aye
heh
rewatch the first one, then watch the sequel immediately.
i envy you a bit
ts depressing to me that even tho they survived heroin, none of them really made it out of the depressing state of living. especially for simon. how they all live they could as well have just overdosed
sure, its realistic. but also very depressing, as is reality so often ;-;
>it completely demolishes what the first movie's ending established
which is?
>t completely demolishes what the first movie's ending established, and it's a fucking gut punch.
That's usually how it goes with drug use.
Even if you escape it, and sober up, you still have to deal with all the shit you've done in the past. There will never be a complete redemption for you or those around you.
...that's sort of the symbolism of Rent's heart problems on the treadmill.
Showing that even when he "became like the rest us", running the treadmill, looking fit, trying to be happy,...his former drug usage got the better of him and damaged his heart....now he's facing morality, so he goes back home to reflect on his mistakes.
deep
I liked it
